Audrey Caroline

I have seen this blog mentioned several different places and never paid attention until an old friend recommended I check it out. I will not tell you how many hours it took me to read the whole thing through all of the tears. It was well worth it. She is one of those people that has an amazing way of putting her thoughts on paper (or a screen). She really captured all of the feelings that I know I felt and still do. Her husband is part of the christian band Selah. A songwriter that had worked with Selah before (and Sarah Mclachlan) contacted them about writing a song in honor of Audrey Caroline. It is BEAUTIFUL. She has it on a slideshow on her blog, but it is on their upcoming album so it isn't available yet. The blog is www.audreycaroline.blogspot.com and the slideshow is in her April entries titled "Slideshow" The words are below:
I Will Carry You

There were photographs I wanted to take
Things I wanted to show you
Sing sweet lullabies, wipe your teary eyes
Who could love you like this?

People say that I am brave but I'm not
Truth is I'm barely hanging on
But there's a greater story
Written long before me
Because He loves you like this

So I will carry you
While your heart beats here
Long beyond the empty cradle
Through the coming years
I will carry you
All my life
And I will praise the One Who's chosen me
To carry you

Such a short time
Such a long road
All this madness
But I know
That the silence
Has brought me to His voice
And He says...

I've shown her photographs of time beginning
Walked her through the parted seas
Angel lullabies, no more teary eyes
Who could love her like this?

I will carry you
While your heart beats here
Long beyond the empty cradle
Through the coming years
I will carry you
All your life
And I will praise the One Who's chosen Me
To carry you

Chop Chop

Kenzee picked up the chopsticks at FlatTop and decided to give em a try. I must admit she did better than I do. z

Getting ready for summer

Kenzee decided to dig out all of her swimsuits the other night after Chad mentioned opening the pool this weekend. We had to make sure that all of her friends were ready for the event too.
(Who bought her all of those swimsuits!)

Mother's day, etc

We had a great weekend despite the nasty weather. Saturday was just the usual tumbling, errands, laundry, cleaning, etc. Sunday we went to church and had family over for a cookout (in). Mike & Molly surprised me with a painting he had done from my favorite snapshot of Kenzee. Hope all of you wonderful mothers had a great day!

Discover!

Amy & I took the girls to the Children's Discovery Museum in B-N today. We had a great time. It was clean, cheap, tons of stuff to do for all ages. We did however lose an hour because I was under the impression that it was near the airport, but we won't get into that. Any body that's interested, it's right next to the Amtrak station downtown, and is only $4 to get in. Sunday afternoon seemed to be a great time to go, very few people were there. I'll let the pics tell the rest of the story!
